Dual Control Leasing FAQs

What deposit do we require?
We require a small refundable deposit, which is currently £150 for any car. This is lodged against the vehicle to ensure that the vehicle is returned to us at the end of the contract in good condition for its year and mileage. A documentation fee of £80 plus VAT is payable, but this is only ever paid once on the first car you lease, any subsequent car leased will not incur this fee.

How do I pay my Monthly Rental?
You pay a fixed monthly rental according to the type of vehicle you have chosen by Direct Debit. The rentals are fixed for the term of the contract and cannot be increased other than by the rate of VAT imposed by the government. One month’s rental is payable prior to delivery of your vehicle.

Where do I go if the vehicle needs servicing?
When your vehicle needs servicing or requires any warranty work, simply call our Customer Care Team on 0845 481 0852. We will issue an authorisation number for a service centre in your area to carry out the work. There will be no cost to you as all invoices will be paid by ourselves.

What if my vehicle is off the road?
We have a fleet of daily hire dual controlled vehicles all available at competitive rates. Call 0845 618 2725 for more details. A free replacement vehicle is supplied if your vehicle is off the road for more than 48 hours due to mechanical failure.

What choice of car can I have?
We deal with various makes and models of cars with either 3 or 5 doors but find that the most popular models are Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa. We also offer the Mini that seems to be popular with young people. Should you require a model that is not listed, please contact us for a quote.

Do I collect or do you deliver my car?
All our vehicles are delivered and collected from anywhere in the UK, free of charge. The normal charge by some companies is £80.

Do I need to insure the vehicle?
You must have comprehensive insurance which specifically allows driving tuition. We do not include insurance in our price but we could arrange this through our trading partner BAS Insurance Services.

Who pays for the Road Tax?
The cost of your road tax is covered by BAS Vehicle Solutions and your new tax disc will be sent to you approximately 5 days prior to the end of the month it is due.

What happens if I have an accident of the vehicle is stolen?
We offer an accident management service which means:

• Non Fault accidents mean you will be offered a Free like for like vehicle.
• Fault accidents mean that you can have a vehicle from our daily rental fleet at a reduced cost to the normal daily rental charge.

Breakdown cover – what is provided if the car breaks down?
Your car is covered by break assistance should you need assistance in the event of a mechanical failure.

What is included in the maintenance agreement?
All mechanical repairs and services are included in the monthly rental fee with a free replacement vehicle should your car be off the road for more than 48 hours due to mechanical failure.

What if I need help with my bookkeeping?
We can provide a bookkeeping service at a very competitive rate to take the worry out of your paperwork and allow you more time to concentrate on your clients. Please contact us for more information on this service.

What happens at the end of the lease period?
BAS Vehicle solutions offer the following options at the end of your lease period

1. Order a new vehicle.
2. Purchase you current car at current market value.
3. Keep your current car at a reduced monthly rental.
